THE UNITY PORTRAIT started in one of my quiet winter nights, some time in early 2008, when I suddenly visualised the actual portrait of a country which was once the oldest in all civilisations, as body and soul (see drawing). As time went by, the state of several other split countries came up to me as portraits, as well as a picture of our current global transition. Aware that all this transcends from a source beyond our imagination, I remain the simple, the neutral, the unifluenced receiver, via which such portraits unfold to my own surprise. Meaning, I won't paint what I myself or the world wants to see, but only what I receive within a state of disconnected intuition. - These portraits aren't attached to any religion or ideology, but definitely illustrate this deep original awareness of coexistence, that old dream, which once Martin Luther King, Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela incorporated all in their own ways through their lives..
